I have looked at most of them and I can't find any place on the net where someone has reviewed one or has offered up what they thought was the best. Is it really faster and more accurate than hand foiling. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! JR

Posts: 0 (01/06/06 21:15:40) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I borrowed a table foiler from a friend to see if I could use it, and hated it! I just couldn't get it to work right. It seems that as I went around the piece, the "table" was pulling loose or messing up part of the foil already applied. I recently (within the past month) bought a stand-up foiler (I'm trying to think of the brand - it's a red plastic one) that I've been playing with, and I like it. It takes some practice to figure out exactly how it works, and how it's most efficient, and I've wasted quite a bit of foil, but it's DEFINITELY faster than hand-foiling. You still have to finish the foiled piece of glass with a FID, but it's just a touch-up.

My experience is opposite from Fran's. I have a table foiler and I love it. It took me a few tries to get used to it and I discovered that you have to be careful with going around the corners. If you push too hard it will break the foil. But once I got the knack it works well. I've also used the stand up type of foiled and didn't like it as well. Using it felt awkard to me. Both the table foiler and the stand up foiler are most definitely faster that foiling by hand and both are great for keeping the foil centered.

I bought the upright first and liked it ok, but found it hard to keep glass centered. Hubby wanted the Table Foiler concept as he doesnt have as much dexterity. And I LOVE it....it's ease of use is much prefered over the upright foiler...and makes foiling FAST...did I tell you I LOVE IT! I'd certainly recommend it to anyone dreading the foiling process...and maybe you can get your hubby to help too!
