cutting mirror

Hi, I'm kind of new in the stained glass art area. I decided after many years in the business world to express my art interest that I so loved. I have this huge mirror that has a corner cracked off and would love to cut it and frame it. How do I cut this mirror? Do I cut it with the Glass up or the Back up? I really don't know and was not sure. I went thur my stained glass library books and couldn't find any thing like that. Thank you for your response.

How to hang. . .

My friend want a window for her kitchen window in her new house and picked a pretty easy design to do in lead. So far so good. It's about 23 by 32.5 opening. So, what next? I mean, it's got to hang and so I need to leave space to allow it to hang, but how much? I was thinking maybe to make the sides slightly more narrow, then leave a small space at the bottom but how much at the top? Maybe part of the problem is I don't know exactly what to do to hang it. I was planning for it to be in lead, with 1/2" H lead on the perimeter. But not sure the best hangers to use on that (have only hung zinc before). So, I guess what I need help with first is what are the options for hanging this? Then maybe I can figure out dimensions. Geeze, I didn't mean this to be so long and sound so dumb. Well, here's hoping someone can understand it and help. TIA

I need to know if you can putty a leaded panel for a front door that is going to be vacumn sealed. I have had three store owners say no and two say yes. The reason they say no is because over time the putty will release a gas and cause fogging. I don't know enough about to know. If you don't putty will it be strong enough. I am using 1/4 inch lead and a 1/4 zinc for the frame. help:

Hello,
I am researching about stained glass as it will be my Master thesis theme, mainly focused on terminology. I am studying english ( you might have guessed already ) and some terms appear quite uneasy to make clear. For instance, in a lead came, is there a difference between the leaf and the face or is it the same ?
I hope some of you can help me!
Thank you !
