We have an open house at our new location on 214 N Kentucky Street in McKinney, TX. It will run from 10 to 4, and we will be doing demos and workshops. We will have beadmaking, glasskolben (blowing small glass ornaments), Kaleidoscopes, art clay demos, and a make and take workshop where you make a small 2 inch fused piece and take it two hours later..

The vendors have been great to work with this year, we have TONS of door prizes, and we will also be awarding prizes to the art contest winners. Additionally, we have our store glass stock on sale.

The entire street is blocked off for this event, we are also sponsoring the high school AP artists and the other stores on the street are going to demonstrate and have booths. Sona from the Art House will be there, as will the neighboring quilting store, so if you have hobbies in those areas it's all the more reason to drop by.

See Ya'll there!
-=RB42
www.stainedglassofmckinney.com

hello all. i'm not a usual chatter... usually too busy trying to scrape out an existance as a full time one person st gl studio. but....

i have just come to the marketplace with the first mass-produced product i have ever made... 43 hours of me teaching all that i have learned about stained glass in my more than 4 decades as a glass artist. the scope of this project is like nothing i have ever seen offered in the st gl industry, so i am very excited about finally being able to offer this to the public. marketing a product like this is very new for me, so i am here asking for help from those of you who might know more about this than i do. i'm thinking trade shows, but i'm embarrassed to write that i have never even been to one and don't know how to find them, so info on that would be appreciated. also, i would appreciate any other suggestions you might have on marketing this product.

i will put the link to the appropriate page on my web site into the link space...

E-Z PATTERN

I found a neat way to make stain glass. There is a guy here in Oklahoma that will make your pattern in vinyl. It is sticky on one side and when placed on the glass, allows you to cut and grind right up to the pattern for a perfect fit. It doesn't come off at the grinder when it gets wet and peels off with no residue. The pattern come with a sheet to assemble and solder on. Check out his E-Z Patterns ad:
artglassemporium.tripod.com/

I represent the oldest synagogue in Arizona. Temple Emanu-El was built in 1910 and I was told that most or all of the construction material came from St. Louis area. This would, I believe include the original 3-panels of stain glass windows that were removed before 1950 and have vanished.
